ATTENTION PARENTS

 YOUR child’s dance class will be listed with the name of their song and the day/time they attend class.  Do not use their class day and time for the picture appointment.   It is for reference if you do not recognize their recital dance song.  Please keep the recital dance song in your memos for upcoming recital info.  Our schedule and this notice will be available on our website before the end of March for your additional reference. Please cross reference on line before calling studio for times if you forgot or lost your paperwork.  Times are also posted on the back dressing room board.  

v     Dancer must arrive dressed in FULL Costume, makeup and hair (1^st costume to dress in is listed on your paper

v     Bring all other costumes, shoes, accessories, tights, etc.

v     Moms are only allowed in the dressing room area and not in the area where the photos are being shot

v     Do not bring relatives, other siblings etc.

v     Group photo’s will be taken FIRST and then individual photos.  If dancers are late, the group photo will NOT BE RESTAGED OR RETAKEN. The exception will be the first class of the day. We will start with individuals first then take the group once all have arrived.  (I realize many of you are coming from school and the first photo shoot of the day usually does start a few min. late).  Please keep in mind we are on a schedule and can only allow a 10 min leeway for the 1^st shoot of each day. 

v     Dancers must be dressed with full costume and face make-up prior to SCHEDULED appointment. Scheduling group photos is difficult especially when most of our dances are in 3 or 4 other classes and have other activities aside from dance. 

v     YSOD encourages all dancers to be at the selected day and time of their photos to get the FULL GROUP PHOTO SHOT. Group photoswill be shown on the screen at the state theatre for the recital

v      As a courtesy to us, please let our office manager know if you will be unable to attend the group/individual photo shoot.   

v     If you are unable to make your scheduled CLASS group photo, you are welcome to come on any of our other picture dates for your child's individual photo.

v     From the 2^nd class on of each picture day, please arrive to the studio at your scheduled time and not 20 min.  to ½ hour earlier.  We are limited with changing space and do not want to overcrowd the rooms. 

Note:  If you have sibilings and they are scheduled on a different day, you are welcome to also bring them on the additional day your other child is coming for a "sibling photo".
 

YVONNE’S SCHOOL OF DANCE 2011 RECITAL PICTURE INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS 

Girls dressing area:  Back dance room and 2^nd waiting area (room with TV) if needed.

Boys dressing area:  Boys will come dressed in their costume; however they will need to wait in the lobby by the office

Once students are dressed they will be brought into our other waiting room and will sit on the benches until they are called for their individual or group photo. 

NOTE:  Entrance for all students (except boys) will be around the back of the building.  Do no enter through the front doors of the dance studio as we will not allow anyone to cross the main dance floor where the photos are being taken.

Students must have the proper dance shoes that are required by the studio.  All shoes must match their classmates. 

HAIR:  Photo Hair style should be clean and properly groomed.  Hair should be kept out of the face. Please keep in mind that if there are any headpieces, hair can not be piled high on the head so headpieces can not be placed.

HEADPIECES:  All students must have consistency in the overall look of the group photo as well as on the day of the recital. On picture day you will be instructed how to wear any headpieces.  DO NOT TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO PUT THE HEADPIECE ON.  Everyone must look the same.  The way you will be instructed in the changing room to put the headpiece on is the way it must be worn for the recital. 

Please keep in mind we have around 1000 costumes with different headpieces. We can not list for you prior to the photo shoot how to wear them.  We do that on the picture day.  Any student with their headpiece worn differently from classmates after they have been shown how to wear it will have it removed and changed to the proper way.

Secure all headpieces with plenty of bobby pins.  Ask your child to bow or move their head to make sure the headpiece is on properly.

LABEL every dance shoe and costume with your child’s name.   

FACE MAKEUP:  Required for all ages.  Make-up should be appropriate for their age groups.  If a dancer wears too little or NO make-up then the group picture loses its continuity. 

Remember:  Age appropriate – all students will be individually photographed with a head shot in one of their costumes.  Keep this in mind when applying make-up. 

COSTUME CARE:  The following will assist you in the care of your child’s costumes for the recital and for picture day. 

v     Take all ballet costumes out and hang them.  On photo day pre-school and all combo classes will receive their "shopping bag" for the costumes (Note: new instructions on our recital changing room procedure will be /has already been distributed.  Parents will not be changing their children in between the dances this year at the recital.

v     If you are steaming any tutu please be careful

v     Accessories for your costumes were put in a separate baggie so they do not get lost.  List your child’s name on the bag and label Tap, Ballet, Jazz Etc.

v     It is highly recommended that student’s costumes and accessories are transported to the picture appointment in a garment bag. 

v     Make sure you child’s name is in all their dance shoes

v     Remember to take care of any sewing adjustments or hemming BEFORE the picture date.

v     Picture Sales are Friday April 29th from

v     Time – 3:00-8:00 pm

v     On this date you may purchase and go home with your photos

v     Method of payment is Cash, Check, credit cards

 We are using Donner Photography this year.

Class time is just your reference for when your child regularly attends class weekly.  Come at your Photo time not your Class time!
