The Grinch - Hip-Hop

 Congratulations to our student Samantha Jozwik!

Samantha was one of the youngest students who auditioned for and was accepted to be a part of Radio Citys Rockette Summer Dance Intensive.  She studied Rockette technique and choreography for a week at Radio City from 9:00 - 6:00 every day.  The final day she and her group performed the dances that they were taught during this week long intensive.  (Pictures will be posted in our photo gallery soon)

Samantha has followed in the footsteps of a few other of our dancers who took part of this educationl dance week in the past.   Our student Maryann Slater took the intensive for 2 years in a row as well as two or our teachers Miss Danielle and Miss Tracy.

About Our Studio
Dance School selection is an extremely important decision for any parent to make. Proper dance training will remain for a lifetime, while poor training can take years to correct.

The focus of Yvonne's School of Dance is to teach students positive skills that will last a lifetime.
It is our belief that any child who experiences dance, develops an understanding of what dedication, teamwork, friendship, and fun are all about.

Our dance school has earned an excellent reputation for teaching children of all ages, whether they wish to take dance for fun, (and what better reason), or whether they wish to make a career in the performing arts.

Our dance recitals are always top of the line. Our shows are professional, extremely well organized and display a variety of dance technique in each routine. At our yearly recital in May , we showcase our student's performances. Here they display well structured routines (all to age appropriate music) and most important, self-confidence. Our recitals are held at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ.

We don't focus on just our performing troupe or our company dancers. All of our students, especially those who take class just for fun are what makes our studio successful and our teachers proud!

1. Our staff continues to take dance class in New York with top choreographers in the dance industry during the year. This helps us give our students a constant flow of new material, styles and technique. It also helps keep the class exciting and fresh and keeps the students from getting bored. Not only are our teachers qualified and experienced, they also have degrees in Early Childhood Education.

2. We place students in class according to age and ability. We have a large school, which enables us to have a variety of classes available to you. We do not feel putting a 3 year old with a 5 year old in the same class is fair or educational for either student. Students need a Positive Learning Atmosphere.

This, compiled with the fact that we have a very high referral base from the parents of our students, has enabled us to successfully be starting our 31st Year in September 2010! We look forward to continuing our dance instruction in Edison, Metuchen, Piscataway and the surrounding areas for many years to come.

OUR COMPETITION TEAM RECEIVES HIGH SCORE AWARDS
Our competition team the "Starlighters" received all platinum awards for their participation in Step Up To Dance competition held on June 5th. They also received 3rd place overall high score for the Sr. groups Tap Dance "Man with a hex". Our newest group of starlighters who performed for the first time in competition received a High Gold (and were 1 pointe away from platinum) for their Hip-Hop routine "Powderpuffs".
